"What I have learned along the way!"
As I reflect on the anniversary, of the day my hubby and I met...I cant help thinking about what I have learned along the way to make him so happy...so Ill share it with you...
#1. I have learned to shut my mouth sometimes...
I don't have to speak on or argue every time and on every point...
I have plenty of time to make my point...this is a marriage...and it is a journey for a LIFETIME, not a SPRINT...Sometimes you have to be SILENT...
#2. I have learned to stick to letting GOD change people...
I have plenty of time to make my point...this is a marriage...and it is a journey for a LIFETIME, not a SPRINT...Sometimes you have to be SILENT...
#2. I have learned to stick to letting GOD change people...
My husband is who he is...and I have got to accept him for that....why waste my time and life trying to change him?...You have to be ACCEPTING....
which brings me to my next point...
#3. I have learned to recognize and understand the areas I can change in him...and how to do that....
#3. I have learned to recognize and understand the areas I can change in him...and how to do that....
Understand this is not done by nagging or by being over bearing....but by gently helping him to see how he can be better in certain areas...you have to be able to effectively INFLUENCE...
#4. I have learned sometimes you have to ACCEPT CRAZY...and REALIZE its OKAY....
Always remember that everyone has quirks, idiosyncrasies, vulnerabilities, fears, flaws and pet peeves...but fighting against his, minimizing his or showcasing his; doesn't bring harmony into a home...it does though lead to strife, arguments, hurt feelings and major...major misunderstandings...
#5. I have learned you have to know and understand the TIMES...
There is a time to play and a time to be serious...there is a time to give in and there is a time to make a stand...there is a time to make a BIG deal about it and there is a time to let it go and keep it pushing...There is a time to be all in his space and there is a time to give him room to breathe...there is a time to make your point and there is a time to listen and accept his point...whether you agree with it or not...
#6. I have learned Sex is major...
Be his SEX KITTEN...even when you don't feel like it sometimes....and give it your all just because pleasing him, pleases you.....just because he wants to...and he wants to do it with you...Let him enjoy what GOD said belongs to him...your body...
#7. I have learned you have to understand when you are being "too much woman"...
Too emotional...too dramatic...too naggish...too clingy...too dependent....too gossipy...too overboard about things...too indulgent in spending...too jealous...too messy...too busybody.....JUST TOO MUCH...less is more sometimes...you have to look at the situation from all angles..not just how you feel but how you are coming across...and get your emotions in check....because too much is just not cute, sexy or whats happening....
#8. I have learned you have to be FIRST...
Not just in his life but in everything...Want love?...Give love FIRST...Want affection?....Give affection FIRST?...Want romance?...Give romance FIRST...Want respect?...Give respect FIRST...Want forgiveness?....Give forgiveness FIRST....You have to be a TEACHER...Teach him how to love you, by FIRST being loving....
#9. I have learned Baggage is for traveling...not for a marriage...
Nothing drags down a man more then dealing with all your bad decisions, past relationships and all the crappy things that happened to you before him...he is there to create a happy home...LET IT BE HAPPY...He is not your daily counselor...he is your husband...get those voices in your head together....and deliver them to GOD...let GOD deal with it...not your husband....
#10. I have learned to believe..."BUT GOD"...
You have to have a lot of BUT GOD moments...otherwise everything written above will not work....you have to look at your situation and say okay...this is what it is...BUT GOD...this is what it look like BUT GOD...you have to allow GOD to come in and fix things...and you have to allow GOD to lead you in your decisions...You have to try and follow the road map GOD set forth for you to have that happy home...He is not going to come and walk off the pages...He does this work THROUGH YOU...so YOU have to humble yourself and allow yourself to be used by Him...by doing the work...even if its hard work...You have to say...my mind, heart and flesh is telling me to do this...BUT GOD...
Those are just 10 tips that have worked for me...there are so many more...but I will leave it at this for now...
GOD bless!!
As a little girl, Maiesha started out with a passion for GOD, learning, people and family. She knew there was a plan for her life but didn't know what it was. Mrs. Ross was a teacher in the church and in her local community, emerging a gift she had no idea was there. It started in a classroom but then the borders were extended to people in the congregation, people in her community, senior citizens in nursing homes, people behind prison walls, and even to the homeless and less fortunate GOD sent her way. She just loved helping others to learn, grow and to achieve higher feats.
August 28, 2008 she met the love of her life online and they have been inseparable ever since. After she met him was when she truly began living and saw her hearts desires fulfilled. He was the total opposite, in a good way; of all the other men she dated! He turned out to be the king she needed and had been searching for all her life. He retired her, after working as a Retail Store Manager; to free her up to do whatever she wanted to do. Being at home was a blessing but she felt something was missing. So she decided to awaken a gift that had long been buried inside of her and that is the gift of writing. She began writing and sharing her thoughts on GOD, Religion, Spirituality, Business, being a Woman, Housewife, Marriage, Family, Music, Finances and Motivational Quotes that help to uplift and give people a laugh to make it through. She decided to use Facebook and share these with family, friends and even strangers but still, there was still something missing...
Then after 22 years of suffering with P.C.O.S (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and trying to conceive, she finally gave birth to their son Leonard Paul Ross III, who was born by way of cesarean section two months early. He is the absolute joy of her life and worth every year she waited to become a mom. During the 31 days she spent in the NICU with him, she received an epiphany. She did not want to leave this earth the way she found it and she wants to make it a better place for her son. She feels If she can do that; she will be successful. Even though she has helped a lot of people in her lifetime, she knows GOD still has a work for her to do and there are so many more that need to be helped and reached. So she is going to simply "Do her Part" and she encourages you to do yours!
