There is a crucial attribute to fatherhood that many dads overlook. It’s the readiness to do battle for the heart and mind of their teenager.
The epic World War II battle of D-Day occurred on June 6, 1944. The night before, American paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines to cut off Nazi reinforcements. Astonishingly, some of the soldiers were later found relaxing in a farmhouse, partying with liquor they’d discovered in the cellar. Many historians have expressed bewilderment that these men – by simply landing in an area untouched by battle – could somehow forget there was a war going on.
Then again, maybe we shouldn’t be so surprised by the behavior of these men. After all, many of today’s fathers suffer from a similar lack of awareness. There’s an unseen battle at work against a teenager’s heart and mind. And many dads don’t seem to recognize it.
Teens are being stalked by everything from pornography and sex, to school bullies and drugs. But as long as all seems quiet on the home front, many dads lose themselves in sports, hobbies, or their career and assume their teenager is fine. But, quite often, they’re not.
That’s why teens need men of valor, who will fight for their kids’ heart and mind – men who will be a source of strength and work to instill biblical values throughout the confusion that so often characterizes adolescence. Dads, engage with your teen and get involved in their life because this is one battle you can’t afford to sit out.

Defining Marriage Continued...
Faith for the Family
Dec 11, 2012
In order to define
Marriage, we first need to examine what we believe and who we believe in!
Who have you surrendered your life to? God and the bible, which is His
word or the devil and everything opposed to the word of God? If you do not
believe in God or accept His word as truth, then what you will read further you
will not be in agreement with!
Genesis 3:1, 4 reads: Now the serpent was more subtil than
any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. {And he said unto the
woman}, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 4.
And the serpent said unto the woman, {Ye shall not surely die}:
Now let us explore the
mind of the serpent for a minute. The bible says the serpent is cunning:
(usually in a bad sense):--crafty, prudent, subtil. This leads me to
believe the serpent foreknew what God spoke to Adam about the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil and he also knew that {when} they ate, they would
surely die! Why do I say this, you ask…Well if he didn't know already,
then why would he have gone through all the trouble to devise this plan?
So it is through this, that I come to the conclusion that satan, through
the serpent intended to attack marriage; starting with Eve first! He must
have known if he could get Eve to doubt God's words and bite the fruit, he
would move her out of her position in guarding her husband; and he would surely
follow, thus leading to his fall.
Through the scripture
above, we learn two roles of the devil. First, He comes to attack
marriages. He seduced Eve into being completely disobedient to her
husband and to God! Secondly, the serpent came to discredit God and
bring doubt to her mind, thus disconnecting them from God! These two
roles of the devil can be placed into principles that should be applied in our
entire walk and relationship with Christ…Just remember this is the devils
desire concerning us as well! He desires to split our marriages and lead
us to doubt God and His word every time!
Defining Marriage is not
difficult when we understand whose definition counts! It is through the
Word of God that we are to take our definitions, directions and
instructions! We need to pray regularly asking the Lord to give us
revelation...Give us a deeper revelation of His word and a deeper revelation of
what marriage means to God, so that we can translate that in our individual
marriages! Let us pray Romans 12:2 over
ourselves: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Let us be transformed by
the renewing of our minds by applying Ephesians 5:25, 26: “Husbands,
love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and {cleanse it} with the {washing of water} {by the
word},”. Although this scripture is directed to husbands, it also
illustrates the importance of God’s word! That as children of God; the
Word of God is as water that washes, cleanses and sanctifies us! I
believe we can begin to save our marriages by first understanding marriage from
God’s heart, second adjusting our mindset to follow the will of God in our
marriages and lastly, holding each other accountable for our actions in our
marriages and calling each other on our negative decisions!
This was also mentioned in an article on Marketwatch.com,
LONDON, December 10, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- “One report from
The Makeshift Alpa, - a highly regarded expert on dating from an
evolutionary psychological aspect, closes its argument with several statistics
including the fact that only 20% of committed relationships begin online. It
also claims that one reason why the divorce rates amongst the religious
communities are lower than those of the non-religious variety is because of the
{added social pressure the religious community brings.}
"Marriage is for a long time and couples will inevitably go through rough patches. One of the most influential factors that keep people together when things are hard is the social judgment their community makes of them. Religious communities put much more pressure on people to make marriage work. I am not surprised they appear resistant to this [divorce] trend." {marketwatch.com/online-dating-causing-divorce-rates-to-rise-2012-12-10}

For far too long we have allowed the devil to
veil us, causing us to give up on our marriages and our families…Join me in
fighting for what God created! Let us seek revelation daily and beseech
the Lord for the strength to walk in that revelation till death do us
part!
